Itziar Lucas

Itziar Lucas Olea

Academic coordinator and head of studies

A graduate in English Philology from the University of Zaragoza (1996), she has extensive professional experience in language teaching and academic management. Since 2007, she has worked as a Spanish teacher for foreigners at Komalingua, S.L.U.U., providing training to companies and international institutions such as Basquevolt, the Red Cross, and the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.

She also teaches English in various organizations and companies, including the Basque Government, Mercedes, Aernnova, RPK, Michelin, and Aratubo, among others.

In the field of educational management, she has served as Junior Head of Studies at Komalingua in Vitoria-Gasteiz since 2012, where she is responsible for teacher selection and recruitment, as well as the planning, coordination, and supervision of language training programs. Her profile combines solid teaching experience with skills in academic leadership and team management.

María Andrés

María Andrés Pesa

Management of ELE language immersion courses

A graduate in Modern Languages, with a specialization in Hispanic Studies and Literary Studies (University of Deusto), she holds a Master's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (University of Salamanca) and is currently pursuing a doctoral thesis in Spanish Language and Digital Humanities at the same institution.

With a methodological approach centered on the communicative method, she has a solid track record in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE), both online and in person. She completed her teaching practicum at the University of Salamanca, where she consolidated her pedagogical training in this field. Subsequently, she has worked as a freelancer, managing her own online classes using digital tools.

She has also served as an assistant to the director and academic coordinator at ELE USAL Bilbao, participating in the planning, organization, and supervision of training programs. Furthermore, she has experience managing and participating as an examiner in official Instituto Cervantes exams, including the DELE and CCSE exams, and holds DELE examiner certifications for oral expression and interaction at levels A1, A2, B1, and B2, as well as for all levels of written expression and interaction.
Her work at Komalingua focuses on planning and organizing Spanish courses, providing academic advising to students, and monitoring their progress. She also participates in the development and adaptation of teaching materials and the management of language immersion activities.

Cristina Urbizu

Cristina Urbizu Pérez

A graduate in Hispanic Philology from the University of the Basque Country (2001), she holds a Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude from the Complutense University of Madrid (2002). She has completed various specialization courses in teaching Spanish as a foreign language and in teacher training at institutions such as the Menéndez Pelayo International University and the Cervantes Institute, as well as at the University of the Basque Country. She has been an official DELE examiner since 2002 and a teacher trainer for Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of the Basque Country since 2012, expanding her training to Adult Education teachers since 2018. She has over 20 years of professional experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language in diverse educational contexts, including companies, universities, academies, and programs aimed at immigrant populations. Her career is distinguished by her specialization in literacy and teaching Spanish in integration contexts, as well as by her commitment to teacher training.

Marta Hurtado

Marta Hurtado Caballero

A graduate in French Philology from the University of the Basque Country (1998), she holds a Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude from the Complutense University of Madrid (1999). She has complemented her training with various specialization courses in teaching methodology and foreign language teaching. Since 2004, she has been part of the Komalingua, S.L.U.U. team, where she works as a teacher of Spanish for foreigners and French. Throughout her career, she has provided training both in person and online, aimed at individuals, companies, and institutions, including the European Agency and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Her teaching experience is characterized by adapting to different student profiles and learning contexts, as well as by the application of communicative methodologies geared towards practical language learning.

Ane Alonso Calzada

Ane Alonso Calzada

A graduate in German Philology from Humboldt University of Berlin (2007), she has completed her training in teaching Spanish as a foreign language through specialized courses offered by the Cervantes Institute in collaboration with the University of the Basque Country (2009), as well as the initial teacher training course for Spanish as a foreign language teachers at the same university (2008). Regarding her professional experience, she has taught Spanish in various educational settings in Germany, including Hamburg (2018), Kassel (2013), and the Ortenbergschule in Frankenberg. Her teaching profile is characterized by a solid philological foundation and a practical approach to teaching Spanish in international contexts, adapting her methodology to the specific needs of international students.
