C1 COURSE PROGRAM

Objectives

Understand a wide variety of lengthy texts and express ideas fluently and spontaneously.

Contents

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Format:

  • 3 hours of classes per day (Monday through Friday) → 15 hours per week in total.
    • Focus on oral and written production, correction, and fluency.
  • 2 hours per week of creative and analytical workshops.
  • 2 hours per week of cultural activities.
  • 2 hours per week of real social/professional immersion.

WEEK 1

Objective

Improve fluency, accuracy, and idiomatic use of Spanish.

Contents

Grammar: Review of compound tenses, emphasis structures, advanced periphrases.

Vocabulary: Synonyms, collocations, nuances of meaning.

Others

Workshop: "Say the same thing... but with more style" (rephrasing).

Cultural activity: Critical viewing of a monologue or stand-up comedy.

Immersion: Peer correction of oral speeches.

WEEK 2: Argumentative discourse

Objective

To argue in depth, coherently, and cohesively.

Contents

Grammar: Conditional, concessive, and consecutive adverbial clauses.

Vocabulary: Logical connectors, expressions of certainty/doubt.

Workshop: Structure of the argumentative essay.

Cultural activity: Analysis of opinion articles and newspaper columns.

WEEK 3: Critical analysis of the media

Interpret media discourse with critical thinking.

Grammar: Complex indirect style, emphatic use of the subjunctive.

Vocabulary: Journalistic terms, bias, opinion, and facts.

Cultural activity: Debate on media representation in Spanish-speaking countries.

Immersion: Create and record a news story in video format.

WEEK 4: Academic and professional language

Objective

Participate in formal and professional contexts.

Contents

Grammar: Periphrastic passive, formal structures, and impersonal language.

Vocabulary: Academic, polite expressions, technical terms.

Workshop: Preparing formal presentations (PowerPoint, Canva).

WEEK 5: Culture, identity, and diversity

WEEK 6: Linguistic creativity

Use Spanish in creative and artistic contexts.

Grammar: Stylistic use of the subjunctive, poetic structures.

Workshop: Creative writing (poetry, short stories, scripts).

Cultural activity: Poetry recital or microtheater.

Immersion: Artistic presentation at a public event or in the classroom.

WEEK 7: Language, humor, and popular culture

Objective

Understand and produce humor, irony, and double meanings.

Contents

Grammar: Idioms, colloquial expressions, playful use of language.

Vocabulary: Slang, digital culture, memes.

Others

Workshop: "Memes in Spanish" → Create and explain their meaning.

Cultural activity: Stand-up comedy or comedy films.

Immersion: Informal interaction with native speakers in social settings (bars, clubs, social gatherings).

WEEK 8: Final project and closing

Objective

Review and correction of oral and written work.

Preparation of the final professional or creative project.

Final project: "My identity in Spanish".

Suggested final project: "My identity in Spanish" → Students give a presentation or creative exhibition reflecting their progress, ideas, and identity as advanced Spanish speakers.
