COURSE PROGRAM A1

Objectives

Understand and use everyday expressions that are frequently used.

Contents

  • Language content:
    • Present indicative tense.
    • Verbs ser and estar, haber.
    • Other basic verbs: gustar, tener, ir, querer.
    • Articles, nouns, basic adjectives.
  • Communication topics
    • Greetings and farewells.
    • Introducing yourself.
    • Describing people and places.
    • Talking about routines and preferences.

Immersion activities

  • Local market: shopping.
  • Guided tour of the city in Spanish.
  • Interaction with language friends.

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Format:

  • 3 hours of classes per day (Monday to Friday) → 15 hours per week in total.
  • 2 hours of workshops per week.
  • 2 hours of cultural activities per week.
  • 2 hours of immersion practice activities per week.

WEEK 1: First contact

Objective

Introduce yourself, say hello and goodbye, get to know the classroom and its surroundings and learn basic vocabulary.

Contents

Grammar: To be, gender and number, regular present tense.

Vocabulary: Greetings, nationalities, professions, numbers, the classroom.

Others

Workshop: Role play → “First day in class.

Cultural activity: Guided tour of the school and the neighborhood.

Immersion: Meet your "language buddy".

WEEK 2: Everyday life

Objective

Talk about routines and habitual actions.

Contents

Grammar: Reflexive verbs, irregular verbs (tener, ir).

Vocabulary: Routines, schedules, days of the week.

Others

Workshop: Visual diary of routines.

Cultural activity: Cooking class → "Spanish breakfast".

Immersion: Go to the supermarket and make a shopping list.

WEEK 3: Family and friends

Objective

Describe people and relationships

Contents

Grammar: Possessive adjectives, qualifying adjectives, hay/está.

Vocabulary: Family, physical appearance, and personality.

Others

Workshop: "My family tree".

Cultural activity: Watching a short film.

Immersion: Interview with a local person about their family.

WEEK 4: In the city

Objective

Ask for directions and describe places.

Contents

Grammar: Prepositions of place, affirmative imperative.

Vocabulary:  Places in the city, transportation.

Others

Workshop: "Create your ideal city map".

Cultural activity: Tour of the historic center.

Immersion: Orientation game with clues.

WEEK 5: Eating and drinking

Objective

Ordering food and talking about preferences.

Contents

Grammar: Verbs gustar/interesar/encantar, countable nouns.

Vocabulary: Food, menus, restaurants.

Others

Workshop: Card game with recipes.

Cultural activity: Visit to a traditional market.

Immersion: Eating at a local restaurant and ordering in Spanish.

WEEK 6: Free time

Objective

Talk about hobbies and plans.

Contents

Grammar: Near future tense, irregular verbs (hacer, salir).

Vocabulary: Leisure, sports, cultural activities.

Others

Workshop: "Organize your weekend".

Cultural activity: Film forum.

Immersion: Survey of native speakers → "What do you do in your free time?".

WEEK 7: Housing and the environment

Objective

Describe the house and the environment.

Contents

Grammar: Modal verbs, impersonal with "se".

Vocabulary: Modal verbs, impersonal with.

Others

Workshop: Create a group advertisement for an apartment.

Cultural activity: Visit to a historic or modern neighborhood.

Immersion: Simulation of searching for a shared apartment.

WEEK 8: Review and final project

Objective

Integrate the content and present the project.

Contents

Grammar: General review.

Vocabulary: General review.

Preparation of the final project (oral presentation).

Assessment

Written test, oral presentation and portfolio.

Others

Cultural activity: Farewell party.

Immersion: Free interaction with classmates and locals.
