B2 COURSE PROGRAM

Objectives

Understand the main ideas of complex texts and relate to them fluently.

Contents

WEEK 1: Opinions and nuances

Objective

Defend ideas with nuance and courtesy.

Contents

Grammar: Subjunctive with verbs of opinion, concessive clauses.

Vocabulary: Expressions of opinion, discourse modifiers.

Others

Workshop: Debate → "Should there be limits on freedom of speech?".

Cultural activity: Analysis of opinion articles.

Immersion: Survey of native speakers on current issues with presentation of results.

WEEK 2: Human relationships

Objective

Describe personal relationships in depth.

Contents

Grammar: Advanced uses of the imperfect and pluperfect tenses.

Vocabulary: Emotions, feelings, emotional and social relationships.

Workshop: Writing personal stories and emotional letters.

Cultural activity: Hispanic film with character analysis.

Immersion: Participation in a group workshop (theater, yoga, etc.).

WEEK 3: Formal and informal language

Objective

Master the register according to the context.

Contents

Grammar: Verbal periphrases, idiomatic expressions, reflexive passive.

Vocabulary: Idioms, colloquial language, and technical language.

Workshop: Translation game between registers (formal/colloquial).

Cultural activity: Interviews with workers in different fields (business, hospitality, etc.).

Immersion: Role-playing in different contexts (mail, interview, conversation).

WEEK 4: Culture and society

Analyze customs and cultural phenomena.

Grammar: Complex indirect style, causal structures.

Vocabulary: Traditions, stereotypes, identities.

Workshop: "Culture clashes: myth or reality?".

Cultural activity: Social cinema/Documentary on diversity.

Immersion: Intercultural round table with guests.

WEEK 5: Science and technology

Objective

To discuss advances, ethics, and the future.

Grammar: Compound conditional, unreal conditional sentences.

Vocabulary: Technology, environment, innovation.

Other

Workshop: Writing a popular science article.

Cultural activity: Visit to a technology center or science museum.

Immersion: Group presentation on an innovation from your country.

WEEK 6: In-depth argumentation

Objective

To debate fluently and with logical structure.

Contents

Grammar: Complex discourse connectors, subordinate clauses with the subjunctive.

Vocabulary: Argumentation, persuasion, politics, and society.

Other

Workshop: Mini TED Talk in Spanish.

Cultural activity: Open forum on global issues.

Immersion: Participation in a local debate or philosophical café event.

WEEK 7: Art and creativity

Objective

Interpret works and express aesthetic criticism.

Contents

Grammar: Impersonal structures, reflexive passive voice, expressive resources.

Vocabulary: Visual art, music, criticism, subjective expressions.

Other

Workshop: Creative writing workshop → Criticism of a work.

Cultural activity: Visit to a gallery or exhibition.

Immersion: Personal presentation on a work that has had an impact on you.

WEEK 8: Final project and review

Objective

Consolidate content and present a final project.

General review of key structures and correction of common errors.

Preparation of the final project (professional or creative presentation).

Final project: "Final project".

Suggested final project: “My voice in Spanish” → Each student chooses a relevant topic and presents an oral essay accompanied by visuals (presentation, video, or performance). Fluency, clarity, content, and register are evaluated.

Final assessment

Oral and written expression and comprehension.

Others

Cultural activity: Closing dinner with presentation of projects.

Immersion: Open forum with the local community (students invited to participate as presenters).
